Right from the start, Carl Bechem was fascinated by "friction, lubrication and wear", a phenomenon that we today call "tribology". In 1834, after the industrial revolution and a long time before the first industrial boom in the 1870ies, Carl Bechem realised his dreams and founded the first German oil company. A fact that not only put him one step ahead of others but also enabled him to make progress and, to constantly improve his own enterprise. His grandchildren continued with what he started and made the business prosper.
They turned the small oil company into a Group of Companies which again has become a pioneer in the development of advanced and environmentally friendly products.
Bechem develops, produces and supplies high-performance lubricating oils and greases as well as metal working fluids and process aids for all applications.
